Voters asked to decide sales tax issues across the country.

Posted by salestax on September 13, 2006

Keota, IA – Another city that wants a 1% sales tax, but can’t decide how they’ll use it.  Hopefully the citizens vote “No” again.  See it here.

Duson, LA – Joining Lafayette on the November ballot.  Not much information given such as rate or how much of the increase will be Duson’s if the sales tax is Parishwide.

Fayetteville, AK – 1/4 penny sales tax for the next 12 years to go toward a wastewater treatment plant and road and trail improvements. Either that or a 30% increase in sewer rates for 22 years.  Read about it here or here.

Pulaski County, AR – 1/4 penny for County Jail.  Supporters want to re-open beds, opponents say to spend $$ for prevention in this short article.  VOTERS REJECTED – see results here and here.

Broward County, FL – A one cent increase for transportation improvements @ $260M/year.  See it here.

Tallahassee, FL – Politics and Healthcare battle it out for a potential 1/2 percent sales tax increase for an indigent health care program in this article.
